Academy's ObjectiveLeungs' Martial Arts academy started as David Leung Chinese Kung Fu/ Tai Chi academy by Master David Leung in the late 70's. Master Leung opened the Academy both to honor the chinese heritage that had given him his martial arts education and to share those arts with others. In those days, he would only accept students who met one of three criteria: students must have been of Asian descent, or were studying and contributing to the Asian culture. Potential students not meeting either of these criteria were required to write an essay that described the reason he/she wanted to study Chinese martial arts. Over the years, with the passing of many top level Tai Chi and Chinese Kung Fu masters, including his own Yang Tai Chi teacher, his vision for the Academy had grown to include preserving the traditional Chinese martial arts. Of the hundreds of traditional Chinese martial arts, he concentrated on the internal arts, such as Tai Chi, Bagua, Hsing I, and two other lesser known internal arts, Wing Chun and Lan Shou. His martial arts family has grown larger, with several hundreds of students all over the world. With his daughter, sons and son-in-law joining his Academy, David Leung Chinese Kung Fu /Tai Chi academy has evolved to Leungs' Martial Arts Academy.
